"Raised in North Texas, Jené graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Psychology in 2007. She moved right in to her graduate studies and earned a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. She completed her graduate course work as a therapy intern among a multidisciplinary team of professionals at the Collin County Children's Advocacy Center, working with children, adults, and families faced with traumatic experiences. She completed her post-graduate work at Compass Counseling Clinic in McKinney. She holds her license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas, and established her independent private practice in 2013.
Jené has a true passion for helping people who are motivated to face difficult issues in their lives. She enjoys working with teenagers and adults, as well as with families and couples. With an emphasis on a psychodynamic approach to therapy, Jené helps her patients understand how their past experiences and unconscious processes manifest in their present patterns of behavior. In her practice, she has refined an area of expertise in working with women who identify with and are recovering from Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), especially in relation to emotionally immature and/or narcissistic family of origin dynamics, and narcissistic abuse. She uses her unique insight and ability to connect with people to build trust with her patients and gauge their needs to decide what counseling techniques will produce the most benefit for them. Understanding that people need to truly be heard in a safe and nurturing environment, she is tremendously gifted at creating this space, allowing patients to safely and effectively express and process their experiences, and find healing. She never wavers from the goal of seeing her patients achieve contentment and a sense of peace.
Jené, her husband, and their three children are longtime residents of McKinney, and they are active in their community, their children’s school, and their church. When she finds spare time, she enjoys live music of many genres, reading nonfiction books, and traveling."
